General Thalaron

Thalaron is the uncle of the current emperor on his mother's side.

He commands the imperial guard, formally a great honour, but an empty title since the guard rarely, if ever, goes into battle.

Thalaron was considered a good general, and as a young man he undoubtedly covered himself in glory.

Today he is a moderate conservative, who prefers talk over action and believes the empire has surrounded itself with too many enemies.

He dislikes the First Princess Lilas because he considers her too erratic and impulsive and far too fond of battle.

Thalaron vehemently opposed the sacking of Erettia, stating that this would only make Allanard another mortal enemy.

He was unable to prevent it, but by backing the young heir to the throne, Kaethar was at least able to block further excesses.
